How about Hosier Lane?

Melbourne’s Hosier Lane is a tourist magnet, and I was one of those iron filings that was pulled by its force last weekend. I’m a street art fan; no, wait, let me rephrase that: I’m an art fan, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s in a gallery, in the park or in a laneway, I’m keen. And I have a massive admiration for those who paint, sketch, draw, sculpt, etch, et cetera. And when it’s happening ‘live’, well, so much the better.

I did used to go to Saturday art classes as a kid in Malaysia, and art was one of the subjects I really enjoyed in high school. But as with some skills, if the time between doing gets longer than the actual doing, the ease of the doing decreases and along with it the enjoyment. And before you know it, you’re just someone who used to do that something a long time ago. Now, I just like to watch…

…Which means I took quite a few shots in this lane – it was tough not to! – and I would’ve stayed for longer but for the fact that I was getting high from the paint fumes (I’m not kidding, my head was starting to spin after 15 minutes), and my friends, as well as MoVida, were calling…

  2. Makes me wish I’d found this template when I was visiting London last year BL. The street art was amazing. I’m off to Melbourne next week, so I might go and have a little look-see for myself! Cheers, 🙂
